Your PRIVACY on PE

I have been asked to respond to questions concerning the privacy of user accounts on PE, in posts that have already been removed for violating my "golden rule" of NOT POSTING PUBLICLY about things concerning PE directly, that would, could and almost certainly do, stir the S***pot, intentionally.

First, if you have any issue or concern over PE, then you are to EMAIL the admins, or ME. If you don't contact us first, and post something publicly --here on PE, or on FB, or else where and we see it-- your account will be suspended. There is a NO DRAMA policy on PE. As part of your membership responsibility here, you MUST give a courtesy EMAIL to us and allow us to address or solve the problem. If you don't get an answer to your question, thats NOT permission to go forward with posting publicly... doing so is an express ticket out of PE. You do however, have options... read on!

DO NOT be shocked, if your account is simply deleted and banned if you violate this rule.

This site is about finding resources for support and connecting with others. THATS IT. Take what you need from it, or not.

Now,

As far as privacy concerns go:

EACH OF YOU are responsible for your own privacy settings, and the name and email address you subscribed with. THAT IS NOT Pinkessence's responsibility, the same as it is on FACEBOOK.  The site has been this way since NING updated the site with being able to have Facebook integrated into the site.

For example:

When you post a photo, blog, or forum post, it can be tweeted, or shared to Facebook, and a number of other social networking sites by ANY USER, simply by clicking SHARE or TWEET! Additionally, DO NOT FEEL SAFE simply because you "think" you are behind a locked pink wall... ANYONE can copy/paste, or even do a screen grab/screen capture and post it anywhere.

Additionally, our site is crawled by Google. If you do not want your profile/content.photos crawled, LOCK THEM DOWN with the correct privacy settings.

OR - simply do what most people do and DO NOT USE YOUR REAL NAME!



NONE of this should come as news to you... and, its your own responsibility - the tools for privacy are given to you. I CAN NOT LOCK THEM DOWN FOR YOU!  Hello, what do you think they are there for???

This will be the ONLY and official post for this issue. Comments, maybe emailed to me privately.

Anyone else that cares to post, email, chat, or send smoke signals anywhere else concerning PE, this policy, or any of our other polices, can either email me on the side, change your privacy settings, change your name... or simply unsubscribe. 

PE is a NING.COM based social network - I do not set or build the software. It is governed by NING and I simply set the parameters. therefore, it is BEYOND my control to reprogram or code this issue. 

The best thing for you all to do, is simply set the privacy settings best for you and do not use your real names if you are afraid of being associated as or with the trans community.

For those who will want to change their names and privacy settings on PE as to avoid being listed in search engines - ALLOW AT LEAST 30 days for Google to update. If you still don't have satisfaction, contact the search engine - I, nor anyone at PE, or NING, can do anything about it. Again, it is the users responsibility to safe guard their own privacy settings.
