Work Email Announcement FYI
For what it is worth this is the email sent out at work announcing my transition on Monday 30 April!;
Faculty and Staff,
As some of you are already aware, one of our long-time co-workers, Tom , has been working through transgender issues for a significant period of time. Tom has gone through the appropriate therapy stages as part of the transition from living life in society as a male to living as a female. On this upcoming Monday, she will begin to openly present herself as a female in the workplace. Starting on Monday, Ms. Teresa will be providing the same spot-on support for our XXXX mission as we have seen for the last many years. As we at XXXX embrace the value and strength of diversity, I ask that you take a moment to consider the challenge this very personal issue has presented, and recognize our standard for acceptable behavior is to treat everyone with dignity and respect. As always, my door is open should you have any questions or concerns.

Even more interesting is that two PhDs have contacted me to chronicle my progress the next year for a study. We start tomorrow.

I believe you are the first person I have seen who came out at work AFTER SRS, FFS, yada yada yada. I hope all works out, Theresa at your job.

reading that makes me smile. having been outed at work by a no good so called frined i had confided in has made my life a living hell recently. I wish you luck and much success!
