Being trans means that i am one of my own kind, the group that sets the bar higher than any of the "other" groups
Being Trans means that i have to work so hard to get the things done, and yet when it comes time to just kinda vent off about it, i'm told to "hush"
Its the sacrifices and the emotional weight that often makes this feel like its impossible, yet we keep plugging along hoping that one day the end
result will be in arms reach. Often its said "that for every step we take, we take three back" its this "law" if you will that makes being "trans" so much harder than it has to be, Whether it be delayed for HRT, or even something simple as having your name changed so that it reflects the person that you are becoming, There has been nothing easy about this transition for me personally , even tho i come off as happy go lucky sometimes, its just a way for me to cope with the changes in my life. Having Help, with transition is great, as always, but then theres just some things that you have to do on your own, and these are the struggles that often set us back. I know that i have friends that love and support me to the bitter end, and then we get to have our cake and eat it too. I know i have and admit to having alienated myself to avoid anything more that might complicate things even more, and im sure that in time i will let down the walls and let others in, but for now its these walls that are keeping me safe from harm and emotional hurt. Often i feel that there really is a "lack" of understanding to what being trans means. whether it be from a gay person's point of view or someone of total different enthinticy, The rights that we have to fight for, whether it be housing or medical coverage, is totally often viewed as indifferent than the rest.
Its this same manner of attitude that often puts us in conflict with our peers. would you deny my freedom of speech because you don't like my opinion on one subject? yet i respect yours.Whether you be male female, trans, etc etc etc. I often feel there is a Hippocratic view that needs to be looked at and made aware of what the key differences are....
