Washing windows
It's a gorgeous day here in StL so I was washing windows out front. I was sitting in one of the open windows reaching across to clean our large bay window. I saw one of my neighbors coming down the street walking with her two sons. One in the stroller and holding the other's hand. She stopped and we chatted for a bit since we haven't spoken in a few weeks. She said it was time for her to continue down the block. So they left and I went back to washing windows.
She texted me a a little while ago saying her oldest, who is maybe 4, asked after they left "what is her name. She was a nice lady." I had to chuckle and share.

Makes your day, doesn't it. I jump for joy inside everytime I called sweety, doll, honey, or other such names by people, even after FIVE YEARS.

i just had a simular exp , i went out for lunch with my kids yesterday and while we were sitting down to eat i had this very light and gentle hand on the shoulder, by the time I could turn around I hear the following " oh pardon me miss, but i was wondering where you got those lunches . it's also so nice to see a mom these days showing her children good nutricious meals " So I can relate to the wierd yet wonderful feeling it brings with as well
