I haven't been on here for some time and not added to this blog. I have another blog which I won't promote here, but here is part of a post I wrote earlier on it about something that happened on the trip out I've just came back from.
A man, well more like a pathetic ill mannered male came up to me and asked at
the top of his voice'
"Oh my God what is it? Are you a man or a woman?" This
was in a busy shopping centre.
Now I was out minding my own business,
spending my hard earned money and this thing decides to draw attention to me. I
try my best to blend in and usually do apart from the odd look, no one takes
much notice of me.
This pathetic male probably thinks he is a real man, but
in my opinion I don't think so.
A real man has self respect and therefore
does not need to try and embarrass total strangers for his twisted
pleasure, showing a total lack of respect to other people.
Some males never
mature to be men.
One thing the question did not hurt me, but I did laugh
afterwards.
To people who think discrimination is needed or funny, 'Grow Up',
learn some manners, get some self respect and be a decent human being, you
might find your life improves.
I did have a great time out and since I was last here I also got to go to 'Sparkle' the UK's biggest transgender celebration in July which was fantastic. I know I'll never pass as female, but I try my best to blend in, but I guess that's not good enough for some people, but in the end I just want to be me and I will be as I have a right to be and that right shows I live in a free country which many people round the world are dying for.
These are just some of the thoughts that went through my head.
Comment by Stephani Krzysik on September 20, 2011 at 5:05pm Karen, very well put. Unfortunately, there are those mental midgets will have nothing better in their life but to make people feel lower than they truly are.
Comment by Nicole Aime on September 20, 2011 at 6:54pm I attribute it to laziness. It's much easier for some people to drag others down rather than build themselves up.
But I could vote for the mental midget idea.
Yes, I am thankful every day for living in freedom. But my mom taught me when I was young that I have the freedom to swing my arms, but that freedom ends at her nose.
Glad you had a good time, despite the lazy mental midget.
I hope you replied, are you a man or a wimp.Pleased you did not lose your confidence, being out and about.
Comment by Karen Cameron on September 21, 2011 at 3:52am Thanks Juliet, Nicole and Stephani,
I told him to get lost in no uncertain terms. My confidence has not been affected at all. The post was some of my thoughts on what makes a decent man and to me this idiot was just a pathetic male. I remember reading something about what makes a real man when I was a teenager. Can't remember who it was by, but he talked about self respect and treating other people with respect regardless of race, gender or sexuality. We are all human. He said a man without any self respect is just a pathetic male not a man.
I agree Nicole, it is laziness and I like the mental midget idea.
Comment by Karen Cameron on September 21, 2011 at 2:45pm That is a good one, thanks Lisa. I'll remember that if it happens again.
Comment by Marsha M. Marsha on September 22, 2011 at 9:31am You have rude blokes?
Huh, there is a native of Edinburgh where I work, (named Scott, if you can believe that) and he can barely contain his contempt for me, but because of state law here, he is forbidden to be uncivil while we are at in our place of business. I would venture to say many would love to tell us what they think of us, but have been raised to be curteous. So the question is: are the ones who speak their contempt really worse than those who feel it, but are polite? Having said that, I suppose I would rather they be polite.
Comment by Karen Cameron on September 23, 2011 at 2:24am Hi Marsha,
Just thought I would put up the definition of ridicule-'
Words or actions intended to evoke contemptuous laughter at or feelings toward a person or thing:
Does anyone deserve public ridicule because of who they are. I can't change what people think, but how far should people be allowed to go to show their contempt.
I have been asked about myself in a polite manner and that is fine, but to ridicule someone in public and possibly cause a breach of the peace, I think that is wrong.
