And for many, their posts are ignored are not commented on, or they get cracked on a little by others, and then they just disappear....aside from the "official site welcome wagon" comments, they are unable to connect with others and will give up quickly!  (Did I stray from the original topic???)

Juliet, a person goes thru many changes during a transition and the initial post or profile is often radically altered over the course of time...you arrive new to PE, excited to find a group of women just like yourself and expect it to be this wonderful site where you will find hundreds of new friends right away because...well, because you are here at last! You spill out your life story in 4 or 5 paragraphs, load up your profile with your most flattering pix, and sit back and wait for the friendships to roll in...you check your email two, three, even four times a day...nothing...you drop into chat and either no one is there or you feel ignored...many give up feeling a bit shattered as if society doesn't create enough havoc, but now my peers too?

But actually, it kinda works just like the real world in that you bide your time, contribute ideas, thoughts, experiences where appropriate and when you're comfy, and one day somebody actually emails you to say "hi" and maybe shares a similar life experience!  Wow!  A new friend!  (smile)  Or you take the bold step and email somebody who's path is similar to yours and all of a sudden you connect!  

At least that's been my experience in here...nobody is going out of their way to communicate with me, but at least I'm not getting slammed too often in my comments, and I have actually met one woman face to face recently!  It's a start and I'm OK with it...you get out of it what you put into it...

Hi Traci,I do like your reply and you give a very positive view of things.Its so nice having people like you around,all is not lost.I did see a new member here a few months ago,when i contacted her,she wanted to know if any local groups were around.Since then she has come along to local group.Also i have got several girls to join PE,but they do not use the site,very often.Thanks again for your comments.
