"We are One"

I am not sure how to proceed with the next and almost final step of going for the final surgery. I have completed everything else except for this one very important step and for me, it's a confirmation of who I am as a person. There's just one problem. I have no idea how I'm gonna afford it. I for the life of me, cannot seem to gather the money I need and how to keep the money I have raied. I have a serious problem, but I'm stuck. Suggestions?

I wish I could be of help to you but I have the same problem.  Ellen

Sounds familiar. I've been trying to get hired by one of the umpteen companies that would be willing to pay for some or all of it, because even with what I currently make... I simply cannot afford to cover that much upfront anytime soon. And with two kids only a few years from college, saving up doesn't seem very likely either. Sad that something so important is still unavailable to many of us.

There are credit companies who will finance your surgery for you, but buyer beware. How much interest will they charge? What is your present debt to income ratio? It's an option, but don't wreck yourself financially over it. Life does go on after surgery.

Right back at you.  I think there are quite a few of us in your situation.

I wish I could help, but I am also in the same situation.

Sadly this seems to be a problem for many since the cost of GRS is so great and most Health Ins. provides little to no coverage for any of our procedures needed.

I want to add my two cents. A year ago I was in the same predicament wondering how many YEARS it would be before I had my vagina because I had no credit and no money. One year later I am post op. I am not saying it is that simple, heck I'm in debt for years to come, but my point is things can change suddenly to where surgery is possible.

Don't give up hope.

I'm not even that far in my transition. Untill I can get my blood pressure under control,I can't even start hormones. But if I were that far I'd be in the same boat, no money or a job.  Cathy
