Yesterday, in my local newspaper, I read an article where research was done on 7 year old boys and girls to see what they thought of their body image.
They were asked if they liked what they saw in the mirror. The results were 7.5% of the boys and 7.9% of the girls said no. Then the article went on to blame the media for kids not liking their bodies, and how girls want to be thin and boys want to be muscular.
As I was reading this, I started to wonder. How many of these kids did not like what they saw in the mirror because they had the wrong gender. I don't think that question was asked.
It would be interesting to know that answer.
