i TOTALLY agree.

i also wonder
how many of us in the wrong body also look in the mirror with the same kind of hatred of our bodies for their weight and shape, how many of us in the transgender community deal with the restriction, failure, self-punishment, and self-loathing of anorexia nervosa.

i wonder how many of us who have repeatedly collected and then purged the attempts to affirm our identity, also have tried to cope with life with the binges and purges of bulemia.

Interesting post, Rikki. Great question, too.

In a way of trying to answer that I share the following: I have read all kinds of research saying all kinds of numbers about being TG and TS... what seems to me be the best from anecdotal evidence is that 1 in about every 5,000 to 10,000 boys is TS. Statistically that is small number... but these were number for adults... for children, that number could vary tremenodusly.. so could being TG. You get the idea that number would grow. Still, overall I'd bet it is less than 1%... TS adults number (50,000 to 80,000) about the same number of seaplane pilots in the US is the best estimate I have heard... TG is probably 1/2 million people but that is only my guess.... 1/10th of 1% or so if I did the math right... We are rare and brilliant stars
