"We are One"

As I renew my efforts to travel on the journey, I realized I was missing spiritual support. I am an advocate of prayer so I'm wondering if there are any Catholic saints who are identified as patrons by our community. I have come up with Mother Mary, Mary Magdaline, and Joan of Arc. Any others?

ST. Anne is a wonderful saint to pray for support. If I remember some of the others, I will pass them on.

While not answering your question directly, I would like to share that transgender people are officially welcomed by the Episcopal Church, including accepting transgender reverends.  Since the church I attend is St. Andrews, perhaps there is a link there somewhere?

Hi Lissa, one of the first TG blogs I started reading early in my discovery phase is by a (now post-op) woman named Jillian Paige.  After reading a bit I decided to go all the way back to the very beginning of her postings, and read every one of them.  She often mentions her spiritual side, and her focus of prayer.  her site is located here:  http://blogs.montrealgazette.com/author/jillianpage21/

I have also heard some Lutheran churches are now opening their doors to the trans community.

Good luck.

I am comfortable worshipping in the Catholic faith. Even if the heirarchy is not accepting of my pursuit I am rooted in my own personal faith. But it is good to know other places of worship who welcome us.

Saint Anne has always been my favorite advocate. Even though I profess more or less to be Wiccan, and agnostgic. But it certainly cannot hurt to ask a saint for help. There really IS another plane, I have been there, and so have a number of my friends; so I feel sure that they can actually intercede for you. (Maybe that's why my second name in RL is Anne.

I must also add, the calming brain waves you get from attending a liturgical service always should make you feel better, as I think they release endorphins.  Some sermons can destroy that though.
