Since 2006, I have worked very hard to gather the audience and content of this site we now call PINKessnece. Many of you are new here, and do not have a full understanding or respect for how this site has come about.
PINKessence did NOT start out as a NING site in 2009. Its began as a Yahoo group for my the local North East Ohio Cross Dressing community and friends. The goal of
the site was simple – to be a small black book of friends and list the “whats
happenings” and where you can go and be safe.
It all started when 3 friends and I were attacked at knifepoint in Cleveland leaving a local bar. The attack is still very vivid in my mind – I still have nightmares in fact about it. One
of my friends was injured badly – the attackers intention was to kill… I’m sure
of it. The attack resulted in an
emergency rush to the hospital where one of the friends was treated for a
diagonal cut on her forehead – the bleeding was horrible and it was deep to the
skull.
After that day, I decide to form a site that would help keep all the girls in communication and coordinate the GNO’s to better organize “whats going on”.
At first, many people loved the new setup – others however, saw this as a challenge to their own sites, support groups and territory (Typical MALE attitude). Even so, PE was a big success – so big
in fact, that it was featured in Lady like magazine, along with other pics and
even a review I wrote about our GNO in the “Night Moves” section of the
magazine. It wasn’t long before
other states noticed the organization, and wanted to copy what we were
doing. So I chapterized PE – one for each state and appointed a
“social coordinator” to each group that was from the local area.
At one time, we had 27 social coordinators with active groups going out on GNO’s once a month. I traveled and attended many of these, but not all. It was a drain on my time off from work
and expensive. The money, I paid
on my own.
I also started my own GNO here in Ohio and other outings, including dinners theaters, movies, and shopping. Many times, I would buy door prizes and gifts out of my own money to give the members that came, as to entice and commemorate the evening
for others to come, and remember.
It wasn’t easy to get that first group going. I spent 1000’s of hours on the phone and going to other GNO’s around the state and states around – on my own time and dime, all so I could spread the word of my own group and GNO – PINKessence. Remember, many CD’s and TG’s are NOT
online – to find them, you HAD to do the foot work.
One of our PE chapters even setup a PINKessence Cruise – it was organized by the same people that do the Dignity Cruise and they are also the authors of “My Husband wears my Clothes”, Mel and Peggy Rudd. The PINKessence Cruise was one of the
largest Trans Cruises they had ever helped organize, even compared to their
own, and they had been doing this for YEARS! PE brought in the people – and we filled the obligation and
the people that went, had a great time, all the while reaching out to
NON-Transpeople by their example of dignity and character. That was the whole goal… to be “out
there”… PE had set new standards that other groups admired.
The southern Bell society was offered for PE to take over and incorporate – I declined – instead respectfully saying that the memories of that group need not be tarnished or changed – to let that groups legacy live in
the memories to those it served.
This is PE’s time now.
Instead, I honed the Bell society by using the Flower theme on PE as
they once used the Magnolia – I would keep the flower tradition going.
URnotAlone actually copied PE’s model for their own “T-Party’s”. The owners of URnotAlone are also from here in OHIO.
When I recruited a few locals from Columbus to help get a GNO restarted
in Columbus, they instead shopped the idea we had researched out with the
owners of URnotAlone to be a sponsor only. URNA saw the potential for a marketing stunt and used the
opportunity for their own needs and started the T-Party, so they could give out
free food, t-shirts and be a free ad for URNA. URNA is a pay website that is filled with admirers and makes
a large portion of their revenues off of ads for what they title “She-Male”
pornography.
This disgusted me – that our profiles where being used to pimp us to admirers and look at porn. When anyone would do a search for Chloe Prince, my URNA profile came up
and when clicked on, Tranny-Porn was all around my profile… I was
HORRIFIED. I did NOT want people
at work or in my family goggling me and getting this impression of what a
Transgender person is all about.
So I set out to do something better – something that could be free to
users, free of porn, set an
example to family and friends, and put the control back in the hands of the
Trans community. I think we’ve
done that here at PE, despite what a very few people say about me or the site
in general… these people are talking out the side of their ass and have no
respect for me, the moderators or the long road it took to get here… so DON”T
lecture me about morals or double standards to site policies.
This site is my living room… you’re a guest here. Act accordingly.
Many people have tried replicating and starting their own NING sites. Each time I watch – and you failed. And that is
because you did not set out with a goal, and the desire to stick with it – to
get past the same crap I am dealing with a few right now.
PE didn’t happen over night – It took 1000’s of dollars, and 1000’s of hours from me, and 1000’s of hours from others to organize the GNO’s, moderate the site, and volunteer to put on receptions at conferences… heck, I
even do work shops at conferences about presenting your online imagine and use
PE as a vehicle of example. I have spent 100’s of hours just making
the gift icons for this site. 100’s of hours on tech support calls during the
night, and even during work hours, to ensure the site is up and running. You
never see it often, but PE is a constant battle to keep running correctly. With NINGS new update, they give you
the ability to back up the site – which they never did before. The did this
because ACCIDENTS do happen to their servers, and they happen often. I deal with that crap – you don’t.
I field 100’s of tech support question in me PE email, personal email, and even cell calls about anything and everything – like Adobe Flash problems, how to navigate features of the site. Do ANY of you do this?
Before you BITCH at me – before you get on your high horse, maybe you should think twice before going toe to toe with me. I guarantee, you will loose every time.
Also, PE is NOT a free site anymore. I personally have to pay, if people do not donate. I am fine with that – to a degree. However, the features
of this site have changed – in that, some features are consider premium
features by NING. Even having a
domain fixed to our NING site instead of the long NING one, is a cost. The member MAP, LIST and Answers
features, ALL cost money per month… the list goes on.
I’m sick to my eyeballs hearing people come in here – people who have not even once considered helping support the site, let alone say a kind or positive word to me or the
moderators - they come in to my chat room, and talk sh*t about me, or the
site??? Hey, screw you. We’ve worked hard – and I’ll do what I
want – you don’t like it? LEAVE.
But go with this caution:
PE is a very admired set up – and NO, it did happen over night as I said. Being on TV didn’t hurt either. Having a very
popular Blog for years on Yahoo 360, Blogger and MySpace also helped. Making the rounds to REAL life venues,
and helping people through their transitions also helped…. But it was all the members who sang our
praises that really made it take off.
Not many places have that kind of loyalty like we do.
With all this said, I half to ask the very few of you, “just who the HELL do you think you are to judge or question me?”
I have busted my hump – FOR YOU, and not once have I sent a bill to your email. While we ask for donations – it is never expected.
However, maybe you need to
look at yourself if you you’ve used this site and all our efforts for your own
benefit, and never once helped “pay it forward” for someone else… Any support meeting, therapist, or
professional would cost you 1000’s of dollars for the same info you get right
here… so, asking you to help with it once and awhile, is not something I should
dread doing.. but it is… here is why:
I actually received a flam message from someone who thought it rude for me to ask for a pledge to the AD on SCC’s program guide. Ummm, #1 the money collected goes to the SCC Scholarship fund. Having
the AD on the back of the program guide is an honor for that effort. The scholarship will help A LOT of
people with feels who would otherwise fall short in being able to attend the
conference because of extreme hardship cases… ie: death, accidents, illness..
.etc. #2. It is my continued
goal to build the PE sisterhood and site.
I have made ZERO money from this site – in fact, its cost me loads! I continue on because I have countless
letters from people who have thanked me for one reason or another that PE
helped them.
To my critics:
Our site has a ZERO tolerance policy for Negativity directed at the site, or, at other members. If you have an opinion, voice it in an email to me or a moderator. If you make comments, innuendo, here,
or on another site about PE, me, or to/about other members – or another members
content here on PE, I will remove you – short and simple. We don’t need that here – we need love
and understanding… and an occasional laugh too.
THIS IS A SITE FOR SUPPORT – NOT HATE.
If you don’t like it, LEAVE!!!
If you don’t like our live stream show on PE TV, DON’T WATCH IT. Should you leave the site over it? Your choice – but In my
opinion, its not my big boobs that
offended you – lets face it - it made you rot with jealousy… That’s right – I
said. I won’t apologize for it either…. In fact, I plan to do it
again – and a WHOLE lot more stuff with our PE TV Live stream. Don’t like it? Don’t tune in.
The live stream DOES NOT violate any rules – it’s a 3rd party widget I install and stream content through using a 3rd party company. It is NOT part of NING (The Parent company to PE). It does NOT fall under NINGS terms of
service. Therefore, since I am the
one that is responsible for the site and I am the one who has to make sure
rules are not broken according to NING – I feel confident being a producer of
the webcast that NO CONTENT I STREAM will violate those rules.
Is this a double standard? – not really. Close – but no.
99% of the people here loved our show – but a few used the opportunity to lash out and use “morality” like a human shield for what the REAL truth is… your jealous – plain and simple. PLEASE, don’t reply with your
explanations of how you can justify that your not. After 5 years of running an
online forum, there isn’t much I have seen or heard at least 100 times
over.
Its ALWAYS a pre-op or Part time CD, usually over weight, or financially struggling that sees me, or other TG’s that are succeeding at their transition – and they aren’t.
When you saw me and Lana on the hot tub – it pissed you off because we CAN – and we look good doing it… your jealous. Deal with it. But don’t cover it over with the rug of morality – whether it be about my body in a
swim suit, or Stephanie Forbes.
And another thing – to those of you that did not know Stephanie, and said we disgraced her memory because we toasted to her in the hot tub – SHUT UP. Lana and I DID
know Stephanie, in person. We have hugged and shared tears with her – held her
and knew her as a friend intimately... We know what kind of person she was. I don’t mean to minimize those that
only knew here as pixels on the screen – but to those that think we don’t know
how to honor our friend – please shut your mouth!!! Stop judging us… We have
grieved… we have fielded calls and prayed in our churches… its time to
celebrate and remember Stephanie in a good way… That’s what we we’re doing.
It boils down to the fact that critics are effing jealous – so they find ways to hurt that which is hurting them. If they bring “it” down to their level of pain, then they some how feel better about themselves. Proof of this, is that, usually when
someone has a problem with another member of PE, they don’t normally
leave. When they disagree with me,
or dislike what I say or do, even outside PE, they will leave PE. How very sad.
I have spent the better part of the night, crying over your hurtful emails – emails that were intended to be nasty. If I or anyone else ever did anything to offended you on this site – it was never intended – sorry you were. But that
doesn’t license you to email me about ever thing that is on your mind about my
family, my choices in life and this site.
This kind of thing ALWAYS happens around the time when something good is happening with our site, or in my life. And when I need my own sites help for support – I get venom in return from some of you?
To the rest of the 99%, thank you for your friendship, loyalty and love. Please remove and delete ANYONE on your friend’s list that causes negativity or constant
disturbances here on PE. Send me an email of those in the Chat rooms and those
even out side of PE who are causing us dissension among the sisterhood.
To the 1% that don’t get it - Remember, this is Chloe’s living room here on PE… You’re a guest in my home – be nice and check your unkindness and jealousy at the
door.
