My Recent Trip to Plano TX

I have had a very interesting trip to Plano Texas over the past 2 weeks. A friend of mine called back in the summer and asked me if I would like to go to Texas with her in December for some “nip and tuck” surgery.  This turned out to be M2F SRS.  Since I am a nurse, she wanted me to go with her. She has basically paid for everything so far.  We arrive in Plano Texas on the 4^th of December. I had no problems what so ever while going through the security check points to board my plane.  They just said have a good flight, mam! When she had her pre op on Monday at the American institute for plastic surgery, we noticed 2 very attractive ladies in the waiting room, one had just had her SRS from M2F and other one was her wife of 21 years.  Tuesday, Teresa had her surgery. While in the recovery room, we were approached by the wife and it came to find out we were 4 rooms apart in the same hotel. There was another couple visiting “Christie Ann” as well.  Shannon was 6 months post op M2F. She and her wife are setting up a recovery house for post op TS in their home. During Teresa’s first week of recovery, we met Oliver who is a F2M TS. He is a “doctor” and also very active in the TG community in the Dallas area and also has a place in his home for post op recovery TG patients.  It was also interesting to find out that Christie Anne is a multi millionaire.

One of Teresa’s good friends back in her hometown is a non-pre op M2F who has a sister here in Plano.  She called and invited us to a happy hour at a Chili’s restaurant.  She and 12 other retired schoolteachers meet there every Tuesday at 4 pm.  They accepted us with open arms and treated us like any of the other ladies there in the group.  They had a Christmas ornament exchange.  We took an ornament and got to play “dirty Santa” with them. It was also interesting to find out that one of the managers at the Restaurant was also a non-pre op M2F.  Courtney has be the manager there for over 8 years.  She invited two of the ladies and us to return on Wednesday evening for dinner “on the house”. She joined us as well after she got off.

Shannon and her wife invited us out to their house friday night for cocktails.  When we got there, there was another PO M2F individual whose name was Annmarie.  She had her surgery about 10 years ago.  In the 2 weeks we have been out here, we met some very interesting and supportive folks, including the hotel staff where we are staying.  We leave in 2 days to fly home.  It just goes to show you what a small world the TG community can be.
