My 4th of July

Well, it's the 4th of July and I had a little adventure today. I had dinner guests at my home to celebrate my sister, Kendra's first birthday, as she went full time on July 4th 2011. She and her spouse, Karen, were at my place today to celebrate.  I also find it is a wonderful day for Kaye too. We were relaxing, watching movies after a nice dinner of pork chops on the grill, and many of the typical foods of the 4th. We were sitting down in the tv room, when a movement caught my eye outside the window. I saw that it was someone who was a co worker of mine back in the late 80's and early 90's. This person had no idea about Kaye. I momentarily struggled with what I was going to do, finally settling on answering the door and let the chips fall where they may. I opened the door, shook his hand and said,"Welcome, Ralph! Come on in!" He said hello and said that I look like I was made up for a parade or something. I kinda chuckled and told him,"Something like that." I then introduced him to Kendra and Karen. I asked about his wife and he said she was waiting in the car. I asked if he wanted something to drink and he said no, he better get going. I walked him to the door and shook his hand again and thanked him for stopping. The rest of Kendra and Karen's stay was discussion time. We were all thinking about what he told his wife and what he was thinking. All that being said, I am none the worse for wear. I can't wait to talk to my best friend, Pam, however as she was also a co worker of his. I will keep you informed. As it stands, if you come to my place, you may see Kaye. Deal with it.
