It's Been a Year

It has been over a year since my surgery of July 13th, 2009. And it has been a fun exciting year for me.The biggest item that happened for me was my Wedding and Marriage to my beautiful partner Melissa Marie Alexander. We had a wonderful ceremony at North Church UCC conducted by our Rev. Eric Willams on Oct 10th,2009.It was so much fun,planning,picking out our dresses and menu and Cake for the reception that followed.So many of our friends in the community and church participated and helped to make it an event that Melissa and I will remember forever.

I also got to do a couple of jobs during this time.First was a volunteer job with the Columbus Public Library. It was alot of fun and I did it for a number of months before resigning for the time being.This was because I got a job that payed a little money with the U.S. Census. My job was quality control as I was a Re-interview Enumerator. It was a challenging job and I got to learn much about differant people in our country.I must say that most of the people that I had to talk with were kind and polite.That was a good thing.There were a few rude ones but I am sure that was part of their normal nature.My thanks to all who were nice to the Census people.

The other thing that I decided to do was return to my passion for archery,in particular Olympic recurve.It has been fun finding places to practice and buying equipment that would work for this.I have been successful with this and have managed to win several events and make some new friends in that community.People have been very nice and helpful.I hope to continue with this passion for the next few years if my body holds up.

And speaking of that body,,,,my recovery has gone pretty well. I have had a trouble or two along the way but have managed to handle them ok. I do know that I was in great shape at the age of 59 to do this surgery and was glad that I was.My recovery was not the quickest but it was slow and steady,,,,much like the tortise....

Now all I need is to have my prayers answered and I can get back together with my family.Perhaps that will happen in the future. I know I look forward to it,,,,,Hugs to all Paula
