Is orchiectomy necessary part of transition?

Ritulia,  I talked with a TG girl a few months who had the procedure done and she told me since she wasn't interested in GRS so she had the excess skin removed so it wouldn't be hanging around. GRS would require that excess skin to be used in creating the female organ. Interestingly enough she said her girlfriends like it that way.---Blessings, Elynn

Orchies can reduce the amount of donor material making penile inversion technique difficult in some cases.  There are two things that can help out if an orchie has been performed already:

1) A gal can manually stretch the skin to keep enough of it there for SRS. I learned this from a gal who had an Orchie about 9 months ago and is now going for SRS the week before me. Her surgeon advised her on what to do.  She hadn't planned on having SRS so soon after her orchie, so it made sense to her at the time. After the orchie, she realized she should have planned on the SRS. That is her path and clearly does not need to be the path of others.

2) Some surgeons will use a portion of the colon to create a neo-vagina. Recovery obviously takes longer and the risk of complications is higher. Plus there is a greater need for lubrication, at least as far as I have been told.
