"We are One"

Hi Everyone! This isn't really TG related, but in a way it is.

My Mom, Sis, Nephew, Niece, and Grand Nephew, all went to the cemetery today, to put flowers on my Dad's grave. He died when I was a child. I was wearing a Brand New White Sundress. BRAND SPANKING NEW! When we got there it was packed. We arrived at my Father's grave, and there was a family having a picnic near it?!? Two of their children were sitting on top of my Dad's headstone! So I got out and asked the children to please get off. Their father yelled, "Hey! Stop talking to my kids!" So I said, "This is my Father's headstone. I just want them to get off of it". The father said, "It's a ROCK! Kids can't hurt a ROCK."

So I said, "It's disrepectful". He basically said "F#*K YOU". I thought my Nephew was gonna snap. (he's 18) My Mother was crying. (she's 76), and my Sister and Niece were fuming. So I again said to the kids, "Please get off."

Then their Mother came over and told them to "Play" somewhere else. So they jumped off, and started running around.

There was chocolate cake all over the headstone, so I asked the family if they had any napkins. Again the Father said, "F#*K OFF".......so I wiped the cake off............. with my dress.

We placed the flowers on the grave, and my Sis and I placed a wreath from us. Then we stood there for a while, as my Mom told us stories about my Dad.

As we drove away, I saw the kids running around and they KICKED the wreath down. It broke, as the core was made of styrofoam. My Nephew, wanted to jump out of the car, but I said, "We'll get security on this".

I told security about the incident, and he took my phone # down.

I got a call 2 hours later, that the Father had been arrested, as he threatened the security officer. So the cops came and he swung at a cop. He also ran around kicking down several other flowers, flags, and wreaths.

The cops came to my Mom's home and had us fill out a complaint.

Had I been in Drab, I think I would've popped this guy. But I was in a new dress. A dress that was very hard to find, I'm not sure if it's ruined, as I don't know if chocolate will come out of it.

Can you believe this?!

Anyone know if I can save my dress?

I Kinda feel as though I let my Mother down. Because if I was in drab, I think I could've ended this quicker. As accepting of me as she is, I keep wondering what my Mom thinks of me now.

First Caroline and now you Amanda.

Whats with the, " I could have handled it better if I was a bloke?

You're not and you handled it like any sensible person should.

If you had of snotted him, YOU would have been the one arrested.

Guaranteed, he would have gone snivelling to the authorities.

Clever? I think not.

We are not guys but more importantly, because we are not, we don't react stupidly, with macho idiocy that belongs in the dark ages.

Be proud of how you handled this and I reckon your Mum will be too.

This slob will rear 2 more morons, mores the pity for your society but you have done something positive to teach the basics of manners.

Be proud of yourself and for heaven sake people, stop apologising for being you....... finally, and stop apologising for being a better human being than 98% of males.

It's not only a woman's prerogative to be compassionate, it is in-born, which few men can say.

Is that a YES, Ladies?

Thank you.

It doesn't matter how you were dressed. You can't argue or reason with ignorance. You handled it perfectly. Sorry about your dress.

Amanda I must praise you like the others, you did the lady like thing by turning it over to the police,  People just do not appreciate what our military did for them.  I was a commander of a air group in vietman.  There were 8 men in my flight group.  I lost 6 of them in combat and to this day I still feel bad about their and my loss.

Love Kimberly

I'm sure your Mom is proud of the lady you have become.  A dress is quickly replaceable am impression and reputation are not.

Hey girl

I am sorry to hear what you all went through.  What an event.  If it is any consolation-- evil people eventually get their due.  And with that guy--- it did not seem to take very long.  I think you handled things correctly.  If you dealt with him as a guy-- you may have ended up in jail with him, or he might have pressed charges against you.  If you have not already done so-- try taking your dress to a dry cleaner.  They are really good with these sorts of things.  Take care

I suspect your mom is proud of you.  You kept the family safe and took care of the jerk properly.

You took care of the family, remember that.

Try spray and wash I hope it works. I think you handled yourself well, respect is hard to get from some people. I don't get why some want to be the way they are but they are and to think some say we have a problem,ha!

Today my tailor said it may wash out. Otherwise she said she can raise the hem by 3-4 inches. The dress was a below the knee stile. So we'll see.
