Hiking the Appalachian Trail

I have been doing a lot of hiking this summer in Massachusetts as training and practice for a planned through hike of the AT in 2011. I'd love to talk to anyone who is a hiker or lives in any state near the trail.

Especially if you would be interested in being a trail angel in any way.

My research done with the assistance of a dear woman who is the secretary of the Appalachian Trail Conservance, (trail name Judo) Seems to indicate I will be the first trans female to do a through hike of the AT. I plan to blog about it and have intentions to write a book about my experiences from beginning transition to hiking the AT as a openly post op trans female.

Types of help a trail angel might provide

Moral support (always welcome

A brief visit at a spot on the trail with snacks or goodies. (Very welcome)

Transportation from the trail to a town for supplies

I'm sure other help could be welcome such as the chance to slack pack section etc but for now I am just looking for contacts who might be interested in being of assistance. I will remember the help and be very thankful beleive me. I'd bet a mention of the assistance could show up in print using either a real name or trail name of your choosing.

My trail name at this time is TEWolfe (I was born with the Wolfe and it fits with how I hike)
