Yes, my story is very similar to many of you, I never married tho. I was also in deep denial up till about 4 years ago, only indulging on rare occasions and trying hard to be a man the rest of the time, and not doing it very well.
I bought a lot of my clothes and shoes on ebay in the beginning and came across a website of some very nice people nearby who used to do makeup lessons/makeovers etc for cd/tg's. I guess the first time I went outside was the day I went over there for a makeup lesson. They told me about a local group (then called trannyradio ) now called transgender radio ( I know tragic) http://tgr.net.au/
They have an annual event at Katoomba which at the time was only a few weeks away, so I bought a ticket and went. I guess that was my début, I was so scared going in on my own but everyone was very friendly and accepting. Since then I've become a regular at all the local events and made lots of new friends.
Now my girly wardrobe dwarfs my boy stuff now, I've spent a small fortune at Target and Kmart in the last six months. And so happy that Target has shoes in my size!. I work at home alot, so Im in GM most of the time. I often go out to do chores around town as Becky and very soon hope to start HRT. I ve been getting electrolysis once a week for a couple of months now and that is going well.
Whats coming down the track for me is a bit scary but so feels like the right thing to do.

Welcome to PE.
The first and foremost thing you need to do is forget your wardrobe and concentrate on you.
All the ball gowns, dresses and shoes will not save or sustain you when you have work to do.
If what you see is scary then your on the right track. Define yourself then plan for what you need to do about it.
I'm glad your here Becky.
Comment by Erin Detty on October 27, 2012 at 9:52am You look great, "Julia is very right", its not so much the Wardrobe, its you that makes it all happen. Go for it. there is nothing like the feeling of being yourself.
One step at a time you'll find your way, just be persistent and believe in yourself. You are what matters and for those that don't get it, "Next"

Comment by Rachel King on October 27, 2012 at 8:11pm G'day from WA, Becky,
Julia's a scaremonger of the highest order, hahahaha.
She might be right but she has no shades of grey in her black and white picture.
I like clothes and I also like reality.
You do this in your own sweet time and when it's comfortable for you.
Add a few pics of yourself here and "100 words about yourself" doesn't mean a handful.
Others respond to openness.
Dress it up and tell us about you, and some of your journey.
There is a wealth of reading here to aid you in your journey but always remember the one important thing, it is your journey and it must be done in your time, no one else's.
Join the " Thailand SRS" group and discover a new world that may entice you to go further in your transition.
Be well.
