Helen Gurley Brown - oops!
Oops! I slagged off Cosmo and Glamour magazines in a blog reply a few days ago, and now Helen Gurley Brown is dead! I don't think it was me, but i'm kinda sorry anyhow!
An icon of young women's self-empowerment (sorta), Helen did have a few good ideas about independence and self realization:

HGB, the originator of more pages of ads than stories and covers with, "(pick a number) sexual positions that wil make your man crazy.", then every hip woman's magazine ripped it off for their covers.
