Chicago adventures...

After showing the dressing room minder a few of my pictures when trying on a fabulous little dress at Akira, he asked me where I performed! Of course it was a little white lie sorta thing from him, but it was much appreciated all the same... Sweet Boy!

This was after spending the previous week at the Be-All Conference. I had stayed in town with an old college friend, and dutifully came out to her. Rejection was never in question, I just had to wait a couple of years to be able to do it face to face. I gifted her a signed copy of Chaz Bono's new book, too, to help her understand a little better what that life long haunted feeling was like. So after that wonderful conversation, we did what had to be done ... we went shopping! ... and tore a path through the boutiques and high end resale shops of the northern suburbs. Herve Legere bandage skirt for 12 bucks? Mine! ... Silver and brass earrings in the shape of feminist hatchets? Mine! Black cowl neck jersey dress? Mine!
... and of course enough other toys and gew gaws (damn Sephora, damn Ulta, damn MAC!) to bring my 2 suitcases up to 49 lbs a piece... (damn American Airlines!).

(Shoulda got that black silk Ralph Lauren ball gown for 90 bucks, but you just can't wear it to the grocery store.)

All in all an excellent vacay and a much needed break from the full time drudgery of being what's-his-name for a while.
