"We are One"

When I have some important things to do , like a drs  apt , presentation , or important meeting , I have either dark brown of black hair ! When I am out with friends having fun  on a weekend and or going out ,   I go as a blonde ! I can say for me , I have experienced more fun being a blonde , where as when I am sporting dark hair, I have been told that I look good , but  that I look too serious ! Even though my mom has yet  to  see me as a female, I would have to say she would also like me better with the darker hair , than a blonde  ! I am just praying that she can find it in her heart to at least want to see me  this way ! I would feel better even if she saw me once !  Does anyone else feel that way or experience something similar ?     Suzie

Connie, you are right about my hair color ! Being Italian , I  have the dark , almost black hair that with age , does have grey highlights lol ! Out of all the males in my family , I had the most , and the darkest hair !  Now that I am transitioning , I like that I can change my hair colors without anyone making an issue of it !  I am growing my hair out, but I do have a spot that I need to correct with surgery in the near future , but for now , I can wear hair extensions or wigs ! As a brunette, I do not resemble my mom at all ! If I resemble any family members , it will be after my facial feminization surgery ! I am not doing it intentionally , it is just a genetic thing , but I am going to resemble my youngest sister ! That is not going to go very well with her , especially since she does not approve of what I  am doing ! I don't care what anyone thinks about me or what I am doing ! All I can say is that I wonder if they could have  made the journey this far if they had to walk in my shoes !

Hi Suzie, over the years I have spent quite a bit a time as a blond or a an almost black brunette which is similar to my hair color when I was younger. I have had my share of critiques over the years comparing the two colors to my skin tone.

In my case I have a fair skin so I don't know that it matters since I can work just a bit of magic with the right foundation. (hopefully)

Here is what I do know. Blonds may or may not have more fun-but get noticed more like Connie said.

If you enjoy your blondness and can own it, there is no better feeling!

Being about as blond as one can get before I transitioned, I went to a wig shop and tried on at blond wigs that matched my real hair. I figured, if my real hair showed it would look just like the wig.  I hated how washed out it made my face look. They let me try on other colors and I found one color I really liked. My hair in the picture to the left is the color it was almost a year ago.  Today, I am slightly lighter and with definite highlights. Highlights make all the difference for me. My color looks natural these days. Perhaps going to the wig shop and trying on different colors will help you find the one you like?  BTW, if the help their is genuine, they can give you good feedback on what looks great on you.  If that feedback is always for the highest priced wig, find their feedback highly suspect..

Hey Connie! Easy on the Midwest cheap shots lol  Mullets are even out here!

I agree with all of your comments except for the short hair and yes I have the football neck...but no it's not red!

I apologize for not being more specific about my blonde wigs ! My wigs are also highlighted ,some with lighter, some with darker highlights , but none are bleach blonde ish in color ! I do not want anyone to miss interprit what I have said about me as a blonde !  I am not a tease, loose or a trashy gal ! If you do not look or feel your age, why should you wear the hair style ,  or clothes of someone  that age ? My girlfriends always tell me , if you got the body , flaunt i! I fit in with all of my friends because we all appear to be the same age , only we know the difference ! My friends are 60-40 split on me looking better as a blonde ! My female friends say they like my hair color better  as a blonde, than my male friends , they are just the opposite !  They always tell me I look too serious , and professional when I wear my black curly wigs  !  I wear the style and color that I am in the mood for , no other reason ! As far as being read, that does not even enter my mind when I leave my home !  After my surgery , there will be no way anyone will ever know , unless I tell them !  Proud to b Suzie

I always wanted to be a blonde. Now that I'm transitioning, I've finally given myself permission to do so. I love it and I don't care if my friends tell me I looked better with dark hair!

My hair was originally black and curly when I was younger. My ex always compared me to Mac Davis. I grew up in the Beatle era and wanted straight hair to wear a Beatle haircut. As I became older my hair turned gray and straighter. Having gray hair for over 20 years, I decided to transform myself, became a blonde, and a woman. Now I really take care of my hair, face, and skin. Womanhood is not cheap.---Blessings, Elynn
