"We are One"

As Part of My Activism, and Bringing Trans Issues to Light

Hi fellow PE'ers.  In case you didn't know it, I am seriously involved in Community Radio here in Southern Maine with a very trans-centric news and opinions broadcast called Trans.Missions.  It's a local show with a global focus, and entails covering pretty much the entire world of transgender progress, setbacks, and hopes for the future.  This was my post this morning, the second day of our semi-annual fundraising effort that we lovingly (and humorously) call the WMPG Beg-A-thon.

So today, being the second day of Beg-A-Thon, I want to put out my first official plea to folks.

Whether you are a friend or family member of Dal Maxwell, follow Trans.Missions, love WMPG, or just want to see Community Radio, the last bastion of totally freeform radio, continue to sustain itself, then PLEASE consider pledging. If you are any of the above, the lines are now open (and will be until 9 p.m. tonite) at 207.874.3000. If you stream WMPG or can't get to the phone, you can go on-line any time and make your pledge via Paypal. Just don't put it off! AND.......if you have a favorite program that you listen to; or more than one; you can list it/them in the Description box with your pledge! It's that simple.

And of course, if you live outside of Southern Maine and just read Trans.Missions everyday, you can find out what the hub-bub is all about by streaming @ www.wmpg.org. We'd love to have you!

Of course, if you ARE family, a friend or ally of the transgender community, I am hoping that you will pledge on behalf of Trans.Missions, the trans-centric news and opinions broadcast every Tuesday at 1 p.m.

And the reason I am putting it out here is that we do stream live; my tag in the intro is: streaming world-wide except, apparently, for North Korea.  Jst to add a little levity to a serious news effort.

I am hoping that some of you will tune in to WMPG sometime and listen at 1 p.m. on a Tuesday.  The world isn't that big anymore and the news from pretty much everywhere is available.  Do YOU know what's going on?

AND...........if you call that number above any day from 2 - 9 p.m. between now and next Wednesday, I will be answering phones.  I do it because I DO believe in unscripted radio for the people, both in musical content and news.

And in case you want to find out if Trans.Missions is real, warts and all, my broadcasts from May forward are archived at www.DAR.fm.  Just put WMPG in the station box and you can find Trans.Missions.
