"We are One"

Any advice on how to get rid of 'muscle mass' for us girls girls who used to um... lift weights?

I can not speak for any other trans women but I can surely speak for me. I knew I was a girl when I was five years old.

As I laugh now at this particular memory in my life that got the whole transgender ball rolling - I walked over to my mom who was watching tv. I had a butterknife (lol) in hand, boy part in hthe other hand and told her "mommy, I dont like this can we cut it off" LOL, Seriously, I was in therapy the next day. The year was 1979, and I had just started kindergarden.

As my psycologist told my parents, "you need to get HIM (ugh) into boy stuff". So My dad made sure I played baseball, football, skateboarding, etc. If it was a stereotypical thing for a boy to do, they shoved it down my throat.

So, as teenagehood came around, my love for girls just grew - thus sparking the "how can I be a girl if I like girls?" question. So being an intersexed individual and having breasts (ugh) I started bodybuilding to A. prove to myself that I was a boy and B. I figured, I'd gain enough muscle to ruin my body to the point of I could never be a woman.

Oh my god how I regret that now. (sigh) I can tell any person how to gain muscle if they want to bodybuild. But can anyone tell me how the heck to lose muscle? I have searched the web, time and time over. I really haven't found much. Only this person named "Raverdyke" who was a probody builder. But other than her, I havent found anything.

I'm curious, if any of you are in this boat or were in this boat, what did you do or what are you doing to lose muscle?

will this work on the large stomach? i was 165 at 60 yrs now at 65 i'n 200.walk everyday at least 3 miles stay active and yet everything goes to the gut can't seem to loose it.i don't eat alot of red meat mostly chicken

You might also contact Donna Rose and ask her. She was a wrestler as Dave and has lost much of her bulk, though she is wrestling again as Donna.

Thanks Andrea. From what iI've know about working out and bodybuilding, I figured I would need to do the negative of that - in which is what you recomended. I just didnt know the time frame and such on how to do it. I'm curious as I will start this process this comming Monday 7/26/10 and will blog about it. How do you think this will affect a few things:

A. Will the fasting effect the effects of the HRT I am takingin a negative or positive manor?
B. How will this affect my glucose levels as a diabetic?
C. Being a diabetic my glusoce was never "great", as it was always high. I notice I have to do about an hour of cardio daily just to keep my glucose steady (although not great) due to the estradiol effect on insulin regulation and production

I hear that if your a diabetic, HRT is hard on you because it raises your blood glucose levels. As I have also heard that many tg & ts become diabetics later on during their transition, especially if you are predispositioned for diabetes since it has a genetic family connection.

D. How much water should I drink? And what is considered too much?
E. What exactly are you eating that consists of 1400 Calories?
F. So I should continue to do the cardio, just bump it over an hour like you said 60-90 minutes @ a brisk walk.
G. One week on the fast, then one week una desired weight is achieved?

I think this will work well for me since I am layed off currently and have nothing but time :)
