The other day I read a post by a member of this forum who is having some extremely difficult struggles right now. I hear you saying " Aren't we all." Well my family and I surely are but not to this degree. This person is going to lose their home and they have small children. "So what just another schmo' going down the tubes. Who cares." Well I do. My understanding of how things work is if you have a great need in your own llife then you need to help someone else to get your own needs met. My own family needs have never been greater so I am going to help someone else to get my own needs taken care of. So in actuality I am being selfish. Does that twist your thoughts up a bit?
I want to be a part of helping someone else see a miracle happen in their life. Katie Scott is circling the drain right now but we can stop her from actually going down that drain and losing her home. I live in Salem, Oregon and a couple of years ago we had the Extreme Makeover Home Edition come to town and upgrade the school for the deaf's haunted house attraction. There were people from all walks of life and backgrounds who came to lend their time and talents to get the job done. I was able to take part in this as well. Maybe some came just to see the celebrities or to have the possibility of being on camera it doesn't matter if they came for the wrong reasons what matters is that they came and helped to accomplish a task that would have been impossible to finish without everyone pitching in. Every bit of material handled and placed or removed to be discarded was necessary to finish the job and it wouldn't have been possible without the people who showed up to help. The cameras are gone, the workers are gone, the celebrities are gone as well, but the finished work remains as a testament to those who came and lent a hand. I believe that the trans community has a responsibility to take care of its own. Time for a reality check. For all of you conspiracy theorists who cannot believe that there are actually good people in this world I offer you the opportunity to flush your way of thinking down the proverbial toilet. I have no connection to Chloe Prince or Lana Moore or Katie Scott other than knowing about them here on this website. I am not in cahoots or planning some scheme to make money. If you think that you know where you can put yours.
What I am asking of this community is to send Katie Scott one dollar and to send Pink Essence one dollar. Two bucks two postage stamps and two minutes of your life. The 2,2,2, emergency rescue plan if you will. I would give that much money to the guys with a cardboard sign who may be using it to buy booze or drugs. Doesn't matter to me what they do with it after I give it isn't my issue. The point is that I tried. I spent two bucks on a lottery ticket last night guess what, I lost. That two bucks doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things it won't be missed by me and it won't adversely affect my life. Now if only five percent of the membership of this community decides to get on board with this Katie will end up with three hundred bucks and that can help a lot when you can't pay the bills or mortgage. I cannot do this by myself but if we all pitch in it can make an impact and you will see the power of mutiplication in action in such a way that it can change the course of someone's life. You have to choose to be part of a miracle they don't just happen. So if you can't or won't help out that is fine but I would ask that you please forward this message to a friend or two and see if they would like to give. If you don't want to even do that then make sure you tell someone about the nutjob who is trying to get people to give money to a stranger that they never met. Have a good laugh with your friends about it and make sure you tell a bigger story so that they will in turn get a good laugh as well. I now step off of my soapbox and let you decide what to do next. You may contact me privately for Katie's address or better yet send the money via paypal to the Pink Essence website and put in the remarks or instructions box: Cash for Katie Thanks for your time and attention.
