"We are One"

35th High School Class Reunion - Teresa's First

Well to put it simply no big deal. Of course I was nervous especially as I went up the steps to the restaurant's second floor. But to my shock was greeted with hugs & total warmness. It was a non-event. I had told a few earlier about the transition, so I guess word spread. Most of the girls complimented me on how well I looked. The men well "how are you." Got a few curious questions, but nothing negative at all. The worst was a few guys were a bit stand-offish, but that is normal for them. Now the more formal/casual event. Must say I think I looked as good as most of the GGs. If you want to see pics go to my Facebook page (same name) and scroll down to see them. More to come...

Fabulous...  Last year I went to my sister's reunion and had a blast...  so I guess we share this kind of experience in common.  What was that saying from back then, "We went to different schools together" ?  Anyway, congratulations on this milestone...

Hi Teresa, I didn't see the class reunion pics but I did see the great picture of you and that sweet looking car in front of the Courthouse! And as great as the car looked, you looked even better!

Tersea, I didn't find your pics on FB. Are they for friends only? I'm thinking about going to my HS reunion next year if they have one. It will be the 36th year and I haven't been to one since I transformed myself. Seems like they have one every year now. It would be very interesting to go. If I go I am sure they would ask me if I am Mr. C. Smith's wife. I have been asked that before not having changed my name or gender markers on anything legal. I would love to see your reunion photos.---Blessings, Elynn

Isn't it wonderful when we build these things up and they turn into nothing to have been worried about? I love that! Even so, it took courage to walk in there in the first place. Good for you! My 25th is coming up in 2015. Should be fully transitioned by then and I am going to go. Little catch though - I went to an all boys high school. Think I"ll stand out? :-)

Part II - Started at 6pm Saturday, waited a few minutes in my car again a bit nervous. Got name tag with senior pic and both names. As was expected now, most everyone was fine maybe a bit surprised. Some men again a bit distant. One of my close old friends thought I was Ted's wife, even after I told him. He proceeded to bow & gave my hand a kiss. So I told him again & he got it. Well it was a bit much so he excused himself as he needed a beer. Only negative was an indirect comment to a female friend from the old football jock that it was weird or something. Highlight of the night was dancing with all the girls, no men to a few songs. We stood in a large circle and took turns in the middle. Yes I was called to the center and gave it my best, so wonderful being a woman!!! A few detailed questions from some gals no guys. Can't wait until next time, overall was a non-event!!!

Glad it went well.  I attended MY 48th (which was tyhe first one since I graduated.  At my 50th, there was no problem.  Every thing went smoothly and every one was very accepting.  Keep it up Girl,.!!
