I need your prayers

First the people buying my house are small business owners and their clients are not paying their bills so please pry that this closing will happen Tuesday so i could pay for the repairs on my car I stuck here in rural Missouri with no transportation.

Second I just send my evaluation to the Hormone doctor waiting for replay

Third I need to move from here because they have no services to handle my depression and IED disorders so pray that all this happens and I…

What Ever Happened To: What is her name again?.

Often when I chat with my friends on here. a fond memory of someone that we remember will be the topic of discussion. Especially with chatting with Marsha. we will remember someones presence and comments mostly good. Usually it will be for example that "A gal that married a Trans man who lived in MN and moved to Canada". Days later one of us will come up with the name. In this case it was Emily who was very active in chat but now is gone.

it would be interesting to know what happened to… Read More

More questions about coming out to FAMILY and TRAVEL

So I have a two part question that Id like to ask everyone because it had been on my mind for a while. I am going to be traveling to Kansas on September to visit a good friend of mine and also surprise my Aunt (moms sister). After much debate I decided that I want to come out to my Aunt before my mom because of a lot of personal reasons. I love my mom and dad but I feel that the timing is not yet right for me to tell them. For one, Im still kind of financially depended on them (sort of).… Read More

Getting started

I have never written a blog before. However, I have found so much help and inspiration in the blogs of those who have gone before me. And I feel that I need to clearly mark my own path so that others who follow can learn from my trials, stumbles, and triumphs.

I am a 52 y/o TS who has begun transition in accordance with the WPATH standards. I was referred to an endocrinologist by my psychologist to begin HRT and had my initial office visit with him on Wednesday, July… Read More

Thanks - I Needed That

Although I'm still reeling from discovering yesterday about my dear sister Stephanie, I had a couple of funny things happen this morning I wanted to share.

First, I went to the hospital for a routine appointment that I have each week. (Non-TG related). Although the nurse that I normally deal with knows about Emily, this other one came out to get me who doesn't. (But that I have seen on occasion). She remarked to me as we went down the hall that she had seen me the other day, but that… Read More

Steph Forbes: Details and Arrangements

Today I received a phone Call from Stephanie’s sister Christine. She was Steph’s most supportive family member. Christine told me that Steph had a history of heart problems having two

previous heart attacks. Due to being unemployed Steph did not have proper

medical care in the past couple years.

Steph was riding her motorcycle (one of her favorite things) on Tuesday with a step niece and had to pull over because of discomfort. This…

A Week en Femme, Sort Of (long)

Okay, not really a week--five days, though. Hopefully it won't take that long to read all this....

A bit about the setting, as it's important to understanding the context: this was at the Oregon Country Fair, where I've worked on the same crew for over 20 years now. Picture a Renaissance Fair--a big one, with around 10,000 per day paid attendance & all the participants it takes to support that. Now move the time period up to the Summer of Love. Whole lotta happy hippies. It's… Read More

Breadth of Pride Needs Expansion

The festivities championing self-awareness, validation, and social

acceptance of this year's Pride event appeared rather successful, not

unlike previous years. Turnout was healthy, attendees were civil, and

the vendors sold and promoted their wares and messages. It's nice to

witness area-wide folk amassing in one localized area in advancing unity

and recognition of individuality. Frankly, it's wonderful. Likeminded

souls enjoying fabulously fattening fare and… Read More

Devastated

While on FB this morning, I saw the little reminder notes at the top of

the screen that today was an online friends' birthday. So, off I go to

her screen to post a "Happy Birthday" message to her.

Before I got the chance, I saw the latest status post at the top of her page. It

told the news that a mutual TG friend of ours had had a massive heart

attack yesterday, and was dead. She was 39.

Stephanie and I had "known" each other for a couple of years. When we… Read More

First time out as Lindsay

Wednesday July 28 2010 marks the occasion I officially went out into heavy populated areas as Lindsay. My fiancée Kim and I left Mick behind in Bendigo for the day while we shopped in Melbourne and saw the Tim Burton exhibition at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI). I was even nervous. I never felt my heart rushing or a cold sweat forming. I just went about my business like it was natural for me. Well I tried anyway. While I wasn't nervous, I was cautious. I kept my voice down… Read More

Why Not?

Go back to being a guy if I don't want to be a girl 24/7?

Quite by accident I read the most appropriate reason not to on another blog.

By permission I'm going to pass along the highlights: from "CD Janie's Blog."

"With all the problems and conflict, both internal and external, you’d

think that I’d just want to give the whole thing up and try for

happiness the old-fashioned way. After all, I haven’t burned any

bridges…

Turns out, I love Janie.

A Farewell for a friend.....

it is written "it is appointed unto men once to die.' The thought is we each have an appointment with death, until the day we leave this world and go off in to eternity. Some go young, some go older.
I met Stephanie Forbes at the Be-all conference in Chicago This Past June. I took a picture of Stephanie and I and Christen after dinner Friday evening at the conference. Steph seemed a bit younger than me, But she was taken, and I was left. I often wonder when people around me pass, why they…

Bad, Good, life, heart, & Hope

think about, for each life, there's heart, and for every heart there is
hope!" Do you agree?

THE CIRCLE OF LIFE

I was preparing to write another silly, frivolous blog (which I have been know to do) when three seemingly unconnected threads in Pink Essence moved me to write this blog instead: one was Marsha's tribute blog to Stephanie Forbes and the other two threads were recent photo posts from two of our members.

These three threads are a reflection of the circle of life (and death) shared by the brothers and sisters here at Pink Essence.

The first photo was of Lana's…

Brief Candle

The waters can be rough

and turn from the smooth

my friend - your voice-

so soothing to me.

Such a friend is a friend

and always shall be mine

from the moment we crossed paths

until the end of time.

Certainly your life means more to me

and your absence tears me apart

but my mind remembers you fondly

and you are always in my heart.

You had it rough and tough and full of pain

you made it through and made us smile

your kind… Read More

It has begun...

Today was as interesting as it was anticipated. This morning, I woke, showered, got dressed (in male attire) and made my way to see my ENDO Doctor. I got there 30 minutes early expecting to have to fill out a bunch of paperwork. That never happened. Instead, I answered three questions and showed the receptionist my insurance card. I then sat and waited for them to call my name.

The appointment time came and went with no word from the staff. I ended up sitting an additional hour before… Read More

Letter about ENDA--Thank You TLC!

Hi, just a few moments ago, I read a letter, written by the good people at the Transgender Law Center ( http://www.transgenderlawcenter.org/ ), directed to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi....well, I think it's a good one, and hopefully, somehow, it will be voted on, and passed of course, this term. Anyway here is the link to the letter:… Read More
