I am woman - or are we....... an interesting perspective

I came across this and thought there was enough truth in it to make for discussion. " How can someone honestly say,"I am woman," when they were born otherwise." " As ever, the TS /TG groups have descended into another swamp of:"My self-expression is the single most important thing - comparisons to an external reality are invalid"That's paraphrasing, by the way. What they actually said was endless variants on the idea that: "I'm a woman. i like my penis and will…See More

100 Words About Me:
Time for an update from last year.
I had GRS in March 2010 and it has become a new sensation to me, as I explore having a woman's body AND functions. Without a doubt the mental stimulus from being post-op and knowing nobody can dispute your gender is enlightening. Someone might one day dispute my birth gender but because I understand I was born with a gender abnormality, I can and will look them in the eye and explain that to them.
If they can't see me through the haze, that will be their loss because I have too much living to do to spend any time on those with a negative attitude.
Transitioning won't be the path for many of us, circumstances will see to that, but for those who's journey takes them this way, it is a wonderful experience, if done the right way. Never forget that.
And, never lose sight of your goal.
Update Dec.2010
Following my last trip in October to Thailand, I had the pleasure of being accepted into my wife Mai's family in a wedding ceremony that was incredibly moving. For all the "sophistication" of western nations, these simple people of this supposed third world country, that has only been around for 3000 years, took me into their hearts as a woman and my wife's spouse.
We have so much to learn.
Update April 2011.
My wife had her 2nd visitor visa refused for vague reasons in December, so now it is work to get the money together for a Fiance Visa and marry "legally" on paper, to allow her a permanent visa.
My mistake was in interpreting legislation as being in use, whereas the bureaucratic reality is still " old school"
This means putting the marker change on my birth certificate on hold until same-sex marriage is given the same recognition as same-sex couples rights that we currently enjoy.
Our love will prevail.

My Mai will Fly into my Arms on June 1.

Posted on May 19, 2012 at 11:00am 8 Comments

My world nearly fell apart in January when Mai ( for those who haven't followed my story, she is my Thai wife) said she didn't want to come back to Australia and be with me.

I was understandably devastated and through my lack of understanding of the Thai physche, I was on the verge of finishing our relationship.

I cried copious amounts over the next 2 months, something this tough old chook seldom does, then I decided that my life was infinitely better with Mai in it, in any…

Some that have been here a while, will remember the Author of this lovely journal entry, Michelle.

It is a timely reminder ( aren't they all) and an eye-opener and a priceless outlook, that all of us should remember and that is why I have resurrected this letter from my archives, for the many who weren't here when it was originally printed on Pe.

Enjoy this triumph of the human spirit.......

Ohhhhh! That popular blog post was deleted? Not by you I assume? From George Orewell's book 1984: Don't you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought?... Has it ever occurred to your, Winston, that by the year 2050, at the very latest, not a single human being will be alive who could understand such a conversation as we are having now?... The whole climate of thought will be different. In fact, there will be no thought, as we understand it now. Orthodoxy means not thinking-not needing to think. Orthodoxy is unconsciousness."   - George Orwell, 1984, Book 1, Chapter 5

Rachel - You've been silenced!.. I am sorry to see your post deleted and wiped from existence when all you were really doing is warning others of what they may not be aware of.  The dictatorial hand of authoritarianism!... How awful is that to be subjected to!

Hang in there girl! - I know you must be upset about it all. It's clearly not a personal issue having to do with you though - but something else entirely.
