I'm transgender, at the risk of adding another label to the mix, I feel that I am currently "bi-gender". I feel that there is a deeply rooted feminine essence within me that I wish was able to shine through to the outside world as brightly as it does inside. That being said however, I do not hold this as my only barometer for happiness in my life. At times my male and female sides work in harmony and I feel whole and content, other times their conflict causes turmoil. This is my place of uncertainty and confusion.
I am well on my way to transition and have been on HRT for about 13 months now. I am looking to interact with anyone who is considerate and looking for good conversation or support. If you'd like to know more, please feel free to say hello :)

A wanted to share a quick article about a former student of mine and his first steps into pursuing transition. I taught him in my drumline, and suspected he was transgender for a couple of years. Early this winter I reached the conclusion that I wanted to go ahead and transition... my confidence in the decision was unwavering and my resolve at the time seemed like it could carry me through the difficult road ahead. I read your latest blog post "Afraid of the future" and I have absolutely been there. I had(have) a lot of the same doubts and fears. Even though I know it's going to be tough and I'll have a road of hell to go through as time goes on, I feel that you only live once and you need to live your life in a way that will make you most happy.
I fear everything because of the position I've put myself in with my life. I am a musician in more than one band and perform in public on a regular basis in the public spot light in a sense. I also have my own business doing computer repairs and website design. Meeting with clients (current and new) is part of my job. The biggest fear I carry is that my decision to transition will eventually destroy numerous business relationships and friendships. It's been about a month and a week since I've started HRT and it's going slow for sure. I have no idea where things are heading in the future other than just continuing on with the transition no matter what.
