- I am 42 years old. I started realizing at 3 or 4 years old that I had feminine inner feelings that I needed to hide from everyone, especially my family. At 13 or so it became very obvious that my body was not on the same page as my mind. I tried to stop listening to my inner voice and embraced the world of the masculine. On the outside I have done so successfully but on the inside I have created anxiety, depression, sleep problems and misery.
I have tried at different times in my adult life to let go of the man stuff and let myself be who I am supposed to be but with little to no success. 4 years ago I met my wife. I told her about me being transgender soon after we started dating and she was very accepting and supportive. With her support and help I am trying to overcome decades of hiding from myself and to let myself be me. I have a huge way to go yet but I think that I am on the right track and I know that I am really tired of fighting it.
It is my hope that I will find friends on this site and that my journey will continue in a positive way that will finally set me free.
