- Hi, my name is Stephanie Shaw, a part time girl, somewhere on the transgender spectrum and still in evolution.
I am currently exploring where my life is heading, as I have started my journey - where it will take me is still up in the air but it will most certainly be an interesting ride. I am an individual who has always felt something was different.
In the spring of 2010, I connected on line with three lovely ladies and thanks to them, I finally decided to do something about myself. On June 27th, I realized that I did not like what I saw when I woke up that morning and looked in the mirror and this was re-enforced when I stepped onto a scale. I proceeded to change my eating habits. In September, I started to exercise and I supplemented this further by joining a gym in January 2011 and started doing circuit training with a personal trainer. By July of this year, I managed to drop 100+ lbs in just over a year - went from 329 to 227 or down from a 26-28 to a 16. I am aiming to get down to the 175-185 range which is good for my height of almost 6'3".
The weight loss has had a direct correlation on my confidence and happiness. I have always been fascinated with the beauty of women and I find myself always watching women and I think what it would be like to be like them and I tend to frame a picture in my mind of what I would like to look like as an end result. Where I previously was, although I ventured out, I did not see myself truly as Stephanie. I wanted to just be attractive and blend into society as a woman when I would venture out as Stephanie. I have always wondered if it would be possible for me to be a fully passable, attractive female. Looking back at my first pictures from last fall, although I looked okay – there was lots of room for improvement. Now I am starting to finally see the true Stephanie emerging and I am at the top of my world.
I am thankful for the friends that I have made this year and for their support, advice and direction. THANK YOU ALL!
I recently had my first true vacation where I was myself for 10 consecutive days. The longest before that would have been 2.5 days. During that time I met up with several friends I have connected with here, experienced as much as I can, pampered myself to some shopping, makeovers and other personal pampering and took in my first SCC! Until then, I am continuing to evolve myself as an individual and am certain that the best is yet to come. I recently became a Proud Memeber of the Vanity Club (VC 565).
I am thankful for all the friends that I have made here on PE.

In just under four weeks, Stephanie will start her first official vacation - 10 consecutive days!
Given what I have heard from others, I will not officially start my vacation until I arrive at my pre-SCC stop in Phoenix. I am told even with a carry letter, as I still have all my ID in my male name, that getting through US customs can be an issue when you leave Canada - especially via flights.
