Hey, did ‘ya see the headlines? "ABC News Editor Don 'Dawn' Ennis Comes Out As Transgender" Now generally, I do not appreciate it when the media is the news, but hey, this is really big news! A career professional at a company known throughout the modern world is transgender, and is going to transition on the job! Yea, that is big!
I applaud Dawn’s courage and decision to transition. I hope she will continue to have a long and distinguished journalism career…

"Personally, I don't believe that you can live an openly homosexual lifestyle, or like, premarital sex between heterosexuals … it says that that's a sin … I believe that's walking in open rebellion to God and to Jesus Christ," he said on the show. "So, I would not characterize that person as a Christian, because I don't think the Bible would characterize that person as a Christian."
~ Chris Broussard, ESPN Commentator.
I do so wish to avoid judging those who judge…

As a disenfranchised Catholic, I cannot help but be intrigued and even a little hopeful about Pope Benedict XVI’s resignation. I do not like Benedict even though I love the church. I grew up Catholic, was both an altar and choir boy, and even considered becoming a priest. I can’t imagine how that would have turned out.
Nonetheless, the American/Roman Catholic culture became my culture. My friends were Catholic. We attended the Catholic grade school and church at the corner of my…

When John Lennon sang, “Imagine there’s no heaven . . . And no religion too,” I did not like it, having just been born again. I had found God, and the English translation, New International Bible was my ticket to keep what I had found. I loved the Bible, and read each page with fervor. They told me every single word was literally true, and I believed it.
Never mind that many of those words were written by ancient Hebrew men for Hebrew men, and other of those words by citizens of…

I read an article by an ethicist who answered a question in the New York Times about the morality of gender transition pitted against the harm it may cause a family. It is a Hobson’s choice, really, as there is no good answer in the end. But, I guess that’s why ethicists get paid the big bucks.
Gender transition is selfish. No doubt about it. But, so is just about any medical treatment, alcohol recovery for instance. Gender dysphoria might just as surely kill you as alcoholism in…

Erica Copeland said… Hi Bobbie, I have posted a review for your lovely book. I hope I was able to do it at least partial justice.

Erica Copeland said… Dear Bobbie, I've come back! Having finished your book last night, I think I know what you meant by that. I just wanted to send you a quick note to thank you for writing "Transmontana", it is a beautiful book and has touched me deeply.
I have had struggles with the thought that God could not love someone like me for many years. As a kid growing up in a Catholic household, I would wonder why I could not believe in God and love him enough to free myself of my "sinful" feelings. The fact that I could not bring this up in reconciliation also made me hopeless in my faith. I'm ashamed to say that at times I have turned my back on God, raged against Him even.
Then I got sober after 30 years. I started to accept myself. I realized that if God did not love me, He would not have allowed me to quit or to stay the course. Your book is SO powerful in that it has allowed me to understand more fully that God is in my life, all around me. Thank you for that!
I have always loved singing "Here I am Lord". I would cry when I thought that He could not hear me, or did not care. I have been singing it with joy in my heart these past few days. As I drove yesterday I saw a statue of Mary in someone's yard. I thought of you and I thought of me. I was listening to Coffee House on Sirrus. Moments later "Let it be" came on. Mother Mary comforted me, as I wept. Thank you for all that you do.

My parenting schedule won't allow me to make a meeting till December as currently the way my weeks fall the meetings are on my kid weeks of course :-/ What is dress code for the meeting? Thanks again for the information, Helena is a hard town to find anything and still be discreet.
