Work? Live? Aaaarrrggh!

It's a new year all right -- who's the wiseguy who decided that working...putting the ol' nose to the grindstone...was more important than LIVING? It could be worse (and there have been times when it has been worse), but for right now Life is mostly a cycle of Eat-Work-Eat-Work-Sleep and then the same thing all over again. So much for self-employment!I was able to catch a few movies during the holidays..."Up in the Air," "Fantastic Mr. Fox," "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" and "Avatar." And…See More

Angel Tree Gifts & Some Shopping For Us

Lea and I went out yesterday to find a few Angel Tree gifts for a 14-year-old girl. She didn't have much on her list -- a Tinkerbell blanket, earrings, and clothing sizes. We found the blanket at the Disney store almost immediately...it's a purple fleece throw with an image of Tinkerbell at one corner. Really, really sweet. Then we went to a little shop and got two cards of earrings, with three pair each on them. One card had dangly dress-up sets in red, blue and fuscia in a V pattern of tiny…See More

For those of you who missed it, The Closer episode "Make Up" aired Monday, 14 December 2009 on TNT and included the following elements:

* an outside discredited forensics lab

* a murder case where the only other evidence was the murderer's spontaneous confession to Lt. Provenza's former partner George Andrews

* the need for former detective Andrews to testify about the murderer's spontaneous confession

* that Provenza's former partner George Andrews has had grs… Read More

This is part one of a two-part post. The second half is a review of The Closer episode "Make Up" which ran on 14 Dec 2009. It's a way of keeping opinions of two separate-but-related posts apart, so we don't go tripping over our shoelaces.

In this episode, Beau Bridges plays George Andrews, who was Lt. Provenza's work partner before Detective Flynn. But to Provenza's surprise, George is now Georgette.

A number of places on the net dealt with Beau Bridges playing a… Read More

Thank you Molly for the comments. I think I really am working on finding out who Jessica is and how it fits in to my life. Everything I do will be based on conversations with my wonderful wife. I am always interested in hearing how others got where they are, or even advice on what I might be looking at changing or suggestions on anything. I really appreciate that you took the time to say hello.

Hi Molly,
I'm not really sure you ever get past it, it's been three years since I came out to my spouse and this January will be two years since I had my surgery and it's still very difficult. My spouse has been through a lot and there are some good times but there are many more bad times. We have been together for almost forty years and it is very hard to let that just go. I still love her very deeply and I know that in her heart she still loves me, but as she keeps reminding me "it's a different kind of love now". We take every day as it comes and try to work through the problems, a lot of the issue's are mine because my feelings towards her havn't changed and I must learn to accept the fact that it's over. We would probably split but right now neither one of us can afford to do so and with the economy the way it is I will not be able to sell my house and the fact that I am laid off from my job does not help. Well there is a lot mor to say about but I won't bore you. I bet your sorry you asked, lol. Good luck and I hope to talk to you soon.

Haha! Interesting anagram.

"Caoimhe" is a Gaelic (Irish, Scottish) name; it is pronounced "KEE-va" (or close enough) and is a feminine form of Kevin. (Not that my birth name was Kevin; it wasn't.)
