My Holy Zeus! Jacqueline what you have written sounds exactlylike what I have written.

As you see in my PM to you today, I agree with you completely about psychologists and psychiatrists in my book 99% of them are total frauds, (or is that Freud!)  And like you I have researched all of the treatments used at the major trans treatments used at all the places listed on the net where there is trans "treatment." And yes, dosages vary considerably. I also believe I know my body and its responses much better than any doctor who can only see me occasionally for a very brief time. So I TELL my doctor what I need and want. I will not stay with a doctor who plays the ME GOD,YOU CRAP game. They must listen to me or they won't remain my doctor.

My medicare insurance Caremore, an HMO I joined mainly because I get my insulin and test strips free, also provides my estradiol and spironolactone at a total of $3 per month.

As a note, I HATE HMO's; they are taking money that should be used for healthcare and stealing it to provide a rich lifestyle for their owners and executives. I also hate that they force you to use only doctors on their list, although you can choose which ones.

My guiding principle since DAY ONE July 2, 2007 is: TO HELL WITH ANYONE ELSE'S OPINIONS OF ME. I don't care what anyone else thinks. If they offend me with their attitude, I will have no more dealings with them; as with the former friend who refuses to use the correct pronouns concerning me.

I also agree with you on making your own path; I think WPATH means WRONG PATH!

Harry Benjamin set himself up as the authority when he wasn't even a trans person; just like he owned all of us, and of course to enrich themselves the psychiatrists etc jumped on his bandwagon.

I certainly grant that many people when they begin to understand that they are really people with a brain and mind of one gender and the body of the other, get in a terrible bind, particularly if they are not accepted by their loved ones. My 19yr old mtf friend blew her brains out because of her father's "christian" hatred.

So from a knowledgeable counseler, preferably one who is also trans, these people can get the help they need. Without it, many turn to drugs, alcohol, and other self destructive things.

There are times I break down and cry for minutes when something triggers it like a passage in a book concerning motherhood, marriage, female feelings; simply because I WASN'T BORN WITH A FEMALE BODY.

OK you say you are long winded.....what the heck is this????  Sorry Jacqueline.
