Sandcastles(An Allegory)

Posted on December 16, 2010 at 7:20pm 0 Comments

Once as a youg boy I made a sandcastle so very fair

With turrets and battlements rising in the air

I built a moat and facades to keep people out

After all, that's what moats and facades are all about

But time and tides slowly took there toll

And building sandcastles is no longer my goal

I once built a sandcastle so very fair

Now it's not even there

For it's gone you see

And I wonder, was that…

Do Clothes Make The Woman?

Posted on December 6, 2010 at 1:28pm 6 Comments

Of course not BUT many transwomen have felt it necessary to proudly make the disclaimer that they are not crossdressers which is understandable. I think that those persons who interact with transgendered women who are transitioning or have fully transitioned would understand the difference and if not could be educated about the difference.

Now, can crossdressers proudly proclaim that they are not transgendered as well? Of course not. For many crossdressers IT IS about the…

Sad State of Affairs

Posted on October 28, 2010 at 6:21pm 6 Comments

I usually do not write serious blogs with political overtones but here goes.

First, I urge everyone here at PE, no matter what your political persuasion to get out and vote if you are able to do so. So much for my public service announcement.

Second: onto what's bothering me. I am really dishearted by the nastiness and negativity of our current political climate in this country shown by candidates and their partisan followers, no matter what the issue are or…

What's the Difference?

Posted on October 8, 2010 at 9:17pm 1 Comment

On a good day you wake up and smell the coffee. On a bad day you don't wake up.

Is the glass half empty or half full? It depends on whether you are drinking a good wine or a bad wine.

A final thought: to paraphrase a story told by Winston Churchill during a formal dinner. A rather shrewish lady guest sitting next to Sir Winston remarked to him: "If you were my husband I would poison you." To which Churchill replied: "Madam if I were your husband I would drink it!"

I deleted the blog post. I couldn't bear the feeling that my words were causing so much friction in the membership. Of course, the negativity I received was a big factor in my decision to delete it, as cowardly as that may sound.

From my perspective, it seems that people like me, whose brains don't always "connect the dots" as I like to say, are not given the benefit of kindness from the more established members here when their thoughts go astray.

The only reason my brain doesn't always put two and two together well is because I was overprotected as a child, so social interactions and the complex concepts involved with "knowing myself" don't always come easy.

I hope I said that in an understandable way. Everything I write I do re-read very carefully several times in hopes of saying everything just right.

Hi Dianne,

No, I did not know about a party in Kissimmee 1/29.  I am in the process of moving to St. Augustine....but please fill me in.  If I can I would just love to come and meet some new people.

Dianne, thanks for getting in touch. I have known and worked with Katie for seven years. She's a real sweetheart and has done wonderful things for renaissance and for the community in general. Its great to see the group expanding into the southheast. I went to school down south and i know how few friendly places there can sometimes be. I'm actually in Fl a lot, my sister lives in Orlando. Maybe we can meet. Please feel free to contact me via email.

Thank you for your comment on the "army" blog. I think, Dianne, most good humour is based in truth and that is what makes it funny, as George Carlin for instance, would take everyday corrupted use of language and made a living off it.
