Danica: you are never to old. to start your transition.  I just had a BA and I am 69. My wife passed away in 2006 after 39 years of marriage and began my "transition" a few weeks later.  For HRT you can go on line tot he inhouse pharmacy and get what you need but it will cost you. I did it for 2 years at the tune af about $300.00 USD every three months. Then I wised up and saw a doctor.  Now It cost me about $35.00 USD every three months.I went full time in November of 2009 and in February of this year had a legal name change. and this past week I had my BA. I am quite happy with the person that I have become and with my life. . A friend of mine who is about 52 just had her SRS in December in Plano TX.  She had FSS about  a year and a half ago   out in Plano TX.  She had her BA the day after I did this past week.  So Again , your are never too old.  Just remember be true to your self and become the person you wish to be.I am still heterosexual as I perfer the company of a real woman.  I was never gay or homosexual, but I enjoy expressing the feminine side of me now.  You may wish to seek the advice of a PSychologist as I did to help me make some of the decisions in my life athat I have made..  Good luck.   Barbara Marie Davidson.

What hair style suites you best?  

Without answering your question directly, I suggest that you get yourself a subscription to ELLE, Vogue or any one of several women's magazines that deal with style.  These subscriptions (at least in the US) are very inexpensive.  You will learn so much about contemporary styles.  Discuss what you see with your spouse.  Then go to the Wigs.com web site.  Human hair wigs are too expensive to explore style with but do check out the lace front styles.  They give a quite natural hair line and the lace is virtually invisible.   I have a Zara long straight wig and a Spotlight from the Raquel Welch collection.  If you then get a professional makeover you will be amazed at the result.
