100 Words About Me:
100 words? I can't brush my teeth in 100 words! Okay, here's the short (for me) version:

I am ABSOLUTELY not defined by any one aspect of my existence! I'm a trans woman. My struggle involved blah-blah-blah and there were many years when I blah-blah-blah. I suppose I should speak about my parents but blah-blah-blah, and the end result is that I am where I am.

My advice to anyone considering transition is not to get too comfortable. Just about when you think you have it all mastered, it will absolutely broadside you. Grow a thick skin, develop a good network of friends, pay attention to the details, don't be in a hurry, and you'll soon be blah-blah-blah'ing all over the place!

Also........I seem to be getting drawn more and more back into activism; not that that's a bad thing. But someone has to take the hits and make the points that trans people are not sexual and politically negotiable commodities, plus I have a tough skin! As part of that, I produce a weekly trans-centric News & Opinions public affairs broadcast that airs weekly, on Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. eastern, and streams world-wide @ www.wmpg.org except, apparently, for North Korea.

I thought I was in Vegas...........Ooops, nope!

Posted on February 2, 2013 at 4:00pm 1 Comment

So..........I have been e-mailing with someone for a while now, for no reason other than she reached out to me with some questions; she had gotten my e-mail address from another forum I participate in.  To clarify - this is a cis-woman who is interested in trans women; not that there's anything wrong with that.  :-)

Anyway........I recently received an e-mail that indicated that she was upset, apparently over something I had posted here.  Now, anyone who knows me knows that I am…

If it isn't one thing it's another; it's always something.

I'm suspecting that some people might actually have felt a little abandoned by me because I've been missing in action. The truth is that I was in my own downward spiral and didn't know how to get out of it at one point. Much like the give and take here, I had to look toward my friends to help me figure out how to deal with the mess I was in the bad feelings. I was feeling and what to do about the…

Hi Dal,

I read your brief story about yourself and can only imagine the tough skin one needs to come out. Especially in a small town where EVERYONE knows you. People from large towns or cities just don't understand small town life. But I am ready to deal with it. I once thought I had to move and who knows, maybe I would but I'm not planning on it. It's my wife and daughter I worry about.

Love Freeport! But not on rainy days in the summer. Everyone else is there too!
