I've just been wondering--simply for fun, you understand---why don't we all start calling the "Community" the "TLBG" community instead of putting ourselves last?I tried it as an opener at a…Read More

Hi All,
I think it must be typical--and I just hate being typical--but after a person loses someone there seems to be a period of drifting. Or, like the aforementioned Don Quixote's horse, "running off in all directions". I find myself in that Sargasso Sea of non-movement, almost (but not quite) floundering in a flood of inertia.
What to do? Veg and watch TV? Umm, no. The four lbs I've gained since Rory's demise indicates that I am doing too much watching and not enough…

Hi Ladies,
I have two very unimportant questions that nonetheless prey upon my brain if I let my P/C guard down even for a moment.
First---why do you suppose so many of us use all three names? I mean, I can see it if it is culturally based, "Dixie Lee" for example, or Bobbie Rae or whatever, but it seems that an inordinate number of us insist on using our middle name. Hello Ladies,
OK, so gender and it's resolution is really a major deal for most all of us, right? I get it, I remember the first terrifying steps, and the steps following, and the thought occurred just now that it's rather like a river flowing down to a delta, where it is reduced to hundreds of tiny streams, all converging on a bay or ocean.
"So what?", you may well ask. (Go ahead--it's OK...)
Well, I was just wondering what composes all those little streams that make up…

Hello, All,
Last May, my other half went into the hospital to have a gall-bladder operation, and ended up having follow-up work done to get some errant gall-stones removed. As it happened, during the surgery to remove them, they discovered that he had in fact Stage 4 Pancreatic cancer. We got to that point around the middle of September. He was in the hospital for 99 days, and they released him to home care, with me as primary caregiver. I had him home for about a month, and as his…
