- I'm a crossdresser living near Dallas, TX. I've recently started going out to events with other crossdressers in the area. Although I've been dressing for years, the fun of going out is still new to me. My first "solo" time out was on Bourbon street, in New Orleans. I felt a bit out of place at first, but not for the obvious reasons. My clothes were neither casual enough or tacky enough. The second day, I wore jeans, and high heel boots, so I felt right at home. I got some pretty favorable reactions too :)

Don't be shy and definitely BE SILLY, if it will make you have a big smile. Also, remember to fake it until you make it, which means smile even if you have no reason to smile, and your femme soul will follow with its own smile. The advantage of being a woman is that you don't have to have a reason for anything you do. You don't have to be purely logical all the time any more. You can be happy all the time.
And when you are happy, everybody around you is happy and willing to be giving toward you. As I said in my profile, when people read me and start to look disapproving at me, I just smile even more broadly right back at them and it disarms them and they direct their attention away from me. Or, they smile back and some have even come up to me and talked. And that is a chance for outreach to the rest of humanity to tell them we are just ordinary people, who enjoy our femininity and wear it proudly.
Enough of my preaching. I think you have the idea now. You seem to be doing well on your journey and as your confidence grows, you will soon never be read at all and you can be just another woman. Stay pretty and smiling..
