I was wondering, dose anyone know of some rather affordable yet...Amze-tacular Webs sites that I can go to...recently I have found...Liuqid or something or other...and there Victorian coats are to die for...but there price tag is not....I was thinking of perhaps looking from the picture of having someone that is capable of making said "clothing"...any ideas?

Like Vallin's article, there is a book titled "Goth Culture: Gender Sexuality and Style" that discusses the importance and emphasis of feminism on the Gothic culture. It is a bit of an academic read, but a good one if you are up for it.

Pulling my Vallinoir look together for SCC (it's pouring as I write) inspired me to look up "Goth". I've found some interesting pages: The Whitby Goth Festival near Whitby Abbey in the UK, "Goth Stereotypes" at blackwaterfall.com, and a rather scholarly article, 'Into The Darkness: Androgyny And Gender Blurring Within The Gothic Subculture' by Christina Goulding, Univ. of Wolverhampton at acrwebsite.org. Boo-yah!

At my age, I can honestly say I am an original Goth. I owned a Hair Salon for several years which made it easy to have the look and live the lifestyle. The clothes, music, movies, etc are still a huge part of our lives. As mentioned by Bobbi, our anniversary is Halloween. We start getting ready for Halloween in August. How can you not love spooks, spirits and walking on the dark side?

My wife was Goth for many years but has mellowed since she hit the 50s. Hard to maintain the look without looking phoney. I am and always have been a midevilist with a goth twist. We were married on Holloween and it has always been our favorite holliday. Even at our age Black is a major component of our wardrobes. I also love color though, Lots of color.
