I read now "Madame Bovary" by Gustave Flaubert. On my desk lie 3 books that look at me ;) "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelly, "Le Rouge et le Noir" by Stendhal, and "Waverley" by Walter Scott.

"Fifteen" by Beverly Cleary was written in  1956 but is still in print. It is the story of a girl just beginning to be interested in boys, and uncertain just how to go about meeting one.Nothing exotic about the plot.Just the story of a middle class girl in the Leave It To Beaver era in a small town outside a big city(San Francisco). It is the detailed description of her life, her feelings, so realistic it is like being there that make it so good. Nice illustrations(in the old hardback version I have, don't know about the current paperback) but not really needed.Well worth reading, especially if you were raised in that era, makes you feel like the teen girl you wish that you were.

"Luna" by Julie Ann Peters is a wonderful book. Edges out "Almost Perfect", I'm sad/happy to say.
The book is classed as a Young Adult, but I think that it works great for any age. It hits our feelings and thoughts right on the money, speaking from the FtM viewpoint anyway. Check it out, you won't be sorry.

How about "The Time Travellers Wife"? A great book, I think that it almost reaches the lofty greatness that is "The Notebook". IMHO

I'm giving away all my secrets here...try also, "Final Salute". It should be required reading for all Americans. Have tissues handy, you'll need them. My #1 book of all time. #2 is Flags Of Our Fathers, you've seen the movie, read the book.:)

"Three Weeks With My Brother" is another wonderful book. Outstanding book by Nicolas Sparks, the author of many including a favorite; The Notebook. You can't go wrong.

How about "Trans-Sister Radio"? An awesome book, in my opinion. It's fiction and written by and author who is not TG. He had great resources is all I can say. His other books are bombs as far as I'm concerned. I'm glad I read TSR first.
The author is Chris Bohjalian. I laughed, cried and cheered. Loved it.

I am reading a wonderful mystery novel Bury Your Dead by Louise Penny. It is part of a series featuring Chief Inspetor Gamache, in Canada.
