Hi Paula, We can always use help. I would start with hair. Your own hair presents a wonderful example of how a girl can use her hair to frame her face and soften her look. Too many girls wear wigs that scream "wig." What's causing this? What should we do to make a wig look like real hair? How can we find wig styles that accentuate our good features and hide what we want to hide?

I can usually spot a "wig" by the hard front hair line, the lack of color variation and the way light glints off the individual strands. Cheap wigs are cheap wigs yet beautiful hair does not need to be expensive.

although going through some electrolysis on the face, the beard is a dead giveaway. Ive tried the red lipstick trick covered by coverup, still does not work. Ordered beard cover (dermablend) etc. Maybe im just doing it wrong, any advice ???

Hey Cassie,
Thanks for the note. In the near future I plan on doing professional consults via Skype (all peeps will need is a headset and webcam). The Powder Room column will be written and done in video sometimes. I'll keep the question on hand. In answer to your question, have you tried coral color lipstick instead of the red. Are you using a sponge for the application. What are you using over the beard cover?
