BEING THE ONLY ONE LIKE YOU AT YOUR COMPANY AND EVERYONE KNOWS IT? So a couple weeks ago I found out that most everyone if not everyone at my company knows I am a transgender girl. Well I consider myself a transsexual girl, but it was an eye opening experience for me. To give you some history, I worked at my present company as the other person, the “guy” for many years; like 15, and for 12 of those years I was in various levels of management or supervisory positions. I had been in a supervisory position at one level or another from 1998 until 2010.I resigned from the company in 2010 and immediately secured a management position with another company and it is with that other company where I finally “came out” and “transitioned”. When I left my old company I kept friendships there, some people I felt as close to as family and I missed them. Coming out as transgender in school is such a difficult process and being unable to be out and feel safe is detrimental to a person’s education
